OAKLAND — A double injury shooting in a West Oakland neighborhood was under investigation, authorities said Tuesday evening.
Shortly before 5:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of the shooting near 20th and Wood streets in the city’s Prescott neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found one person suffering from at least one gunshot wound, as well as evidence suggesting a second person had been shot. After reaching out to area hospitals, officers soon found a second victim who managed to acquire their own transportation to seek medical care.
Neither victim’s condition was immediately available, and police did not release any information about suspects or an associated vehicle Tuesday night.
For information leading to the arrest of a suspect, police are offering up to $10,000 in the shooting. Anyone with information may call police at 510-238-3426 or Crime Stoppers of Oakland at 510-777-8572.
